Where the boycott talk comes from
The boycott controversy is real, but it is narrower than the viral lists suggest. It traces to that October 10, 2023 Domino's Israel Facebook post celebrating free food handed to IDF soldiers after the October 7 Hamas attack. On December 11, 2023, the Trinity College Dublin Students' Union listed Domino's among companies to boycott, citing the Israeli franchise's support for the IDF (College Tribune).
That post was a local franchisee's act. The US parent made no comparable donation and issued no political statement. When the Dublin dispute escalated in early 2024, the UK and Ireland franchise and the US master franchisor moved to have the Israeli posts taken down rather than endorse them (Trinity News). Several BDS-aligned directories still list Domino's, but they group it with McDonald's, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's on the basis of franchise-level support, not official corporate priority (Time).
Two other points are worth clearing up. First, the viral claim that "Domino's left Israel in 2023 and is not currently operating there" is simply false. Domino's never withdrew and continues to operate in Israel. Second, most Domino's Israel locations are deliberately non-kosher, which lets them stay open on Shabbat and serve meat. That is a business choice, not a political statement.
