The second driver came weeks later. On 7 November 2024, France coach Didier Deschamps left Mbappé out of the squad for Nations League matches against Israel and Italy, calling it a one-off decision and saying the player "wanted to come," as The Times of Israel reported. It was his second consecutive omission. On 13 November, the eve of the match at the Stade de France, Deschamps was asked again and replied, "Listen, I told you what I told you...
